Hello, Everyone and welcome back to another week of The Sound Scoop! If you read last week’s post on The Sound Scape you will know that I mentioned that this week I had something special and even though it is something small I hope you all enjoy it!
First I would yet again thank you all for taking a little time out of your days every week and reading my posts. It makes me happy that in one way or another, I can convey something through my curated musical choices.
Now for this week, I wanted to share my Top 3 in music of this year, this being genre, songs, and albums. 2024 has been a year of discovery for me and my music has expanded into the horizon a lot.
When I was choosing my favorites the one thing I kept in mind was: “what has been the music that has made me feel the most” (this doesn’t mean something necessarily negative!). There is no better feeling when music not only sounds good but it evokes some emotion a little stronger than normal. So here is my list of favorites of the year in no particular order!
Lari’s Top
Albums
Snow Angel by Renné Rapp
This is How Tomorrow Moves by Beabadoobee
I Put a Spell on You by Nina Simone
I have been gearing myself towards more vocally inclined artists and this selection above I think is pretty good to represent that. Also, all these albums are one you have to listen to in order they come to have the full experience.
Songs
Where or When by Laufey
Attitude by fromis_9
Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl by Chappell Roan
As you can all see, girls rule in my spotify!!! All these songs were ones I have kept on repeat the whole year.
Another small special change I am making for the sound scoop is the logo!! If you haven’t noticed, the logo of the sound scoop has been the same for the past year and it needed re-vamping. This inspired me to incorporate one of my favorite creative activities to create this new logo: collaging! So let me present to you the new Sound Scoop logo!
I believe this logo encapsulates the true essence of what The Sound Scoop is! (p.s. The ice cream is an allusion to the SCOOp part of the name).
I hope you enjoyed my tops of the year and feel free to tell me some of yours in the comments, as you all know I’m open to any music recommendations.
Have an awesome week!
