Hi everyone! I hope you are all well, welcome back to the Sound Scoop’s second edition of the Sound Scape. This week you guys chose the following mood: AT-HOME DANCE PARTY!
I think this one comes just in time, as it has been raining like crazy these past couple of days and I think that it is important to have some enjoyable songs to raise the spirits once in a while! But honestly, it is always a good moment to listen to music which is meant to be fun, and energetic so you can all have your own At-home dance parties!
I did a little research for this week’s ‘mood’ because as we all know, music isn’t just something you hear, it is something you feel and ultimately impacts you (even if it is just in the slightest).
Normally, songs that are high energy will have a high BPM, around 110 BPM and higher. These songs are very good to listen to when doing any physical activity as they increase our mental stimulus, making us more focused, with more energy and even increasing our efficiency of activity. And we can classify dancing with ourselves (or others!) as a physical activity of course, which means we can also see these benefits when we indulge in the activity!
Other important benefits can be unique to dance parties, i found this quote from a blog which summarises what i mean. It says that dance parties are a “great way to enhance mental well-being, reduce stress, and strengthen family bonds. With minimal preparation, you can create an evening that everyone looks forward to, filled with laughter, energy, and the uninhibited joy of dancing”.
Here are my top pics for my personal At-home dance party which I know you all will love to dance to!
SOS by Rihanna
With a BPM of 137, this song is an old one but I will never get over it! (p.s. Rihanna when is the next release…)
Feelings by Maroon 5
This list might be a 2010’s compliation but oh i love myself a fun song(122 BPM, this one is lower but vibes are still high!).
As It Was by Harry Styles
There is a reason this song was so popular, it has a 179 BPM which you can’t help but dance to, doesn’t matter if it’s overplayed or not, just vibe!
BONUS SONG: TTYL by Loosemble
I have had this one stuck in my head for some time and I want to transfer this obsession… You can just help but move your shoulders! ( A whopping 144 BPM, It feels faster tho…)
Songs like these are a great reminder that music are such an awsome thing that we able to coexist with. It is a total game changer. I hope you all listen to these songs and throw a tiny At-home dance party with yourselves.
Next weeks review will be the looser from the previous two weeks, check the last sound scape volume to find out which one it is!
I see you all next week,
Lari <3
